Since his teens in the early to mid 80s, Jeff Bloom has collected the entire range of Australian motoring publications featuring standard and modified Aussie muscle cars.
Age 16, he stumbed across an article 'Buried Treasure' in Street Machine magazine, featuring an American muscle car collection hidden in an LA warehouse. The article made an indelible impression, as did viewing NSW north coast collector Graham Mein's breaktaking collection of British performance Fords when in his early 20s, but even so Jeff had no idea he himself was going to end up with a car collection of his own, bigger than these two combined - 73 collectible cars over a 5 year period.

Jeff's original thinking was that around 15 cars or so would pull it up, but it became clear early that the collection was going to be extended to comprise every make and model of local muscle car, sedans and 2 doors, and the decision was made to arrange all cars in make and model year order, as an 'evolution' record. To our knowledge, this has never been previously attempted. Where possible, unusual colours and options were selected for maximum effect and contrast. The result is nothing short of spectacular.
Storage venues were sought out in the South East Queensland region. Unfortunately, most were prohibitively expensive, too far out of town, or simply not available in the required size and dimensions. AMCM's current location is in a semi rural district in the Pine Rivers Shire, regarded as being still within the outskirts of the northside of Brisbane, and is an easy 30 minute drive from the Brisbane GPO, or 20 minute drive from the Brisbane airport. The venue comfortably houses the entire collection under the one roof, on the same level, and allows all vehicles to be viewed together at the same time. Adequate space around each vehicle allows easy access and appreciation.
This entire project has been 100% funded by Jeff Bloom - he has never sought sponsorship, or asked for equity partners or donations. AMCM is currently being registered as a not-for-profit organisation, with all proceeds raised from admissions, food and drink, and merchandise being farmed back into the ongoing storage costs, maintenance and improvements of the vehicles in the collection.
